Physiotherapy and you

So you see a physiotherapist a few times a year.

Every time you get an injury, perhaps. In a few weeks you get better, and you return to your life and to the same routine.

With time, however, even daily activities have a long-term effect on the body.

Wear and tear happens, aches and pains build up, muscles knot and tense. This tends to have a domino effect as your body learns to compensate for these new issues.

As you age, it takes your body longer to recover from stress and injury.

Maintenance care is a way of staying on top of some of these problems. If you catch and correct a problem right at the beginning, relieving some of the stress from your body, it will help you in the long run.

Targeted exercises can help strengthen core groups of muscle, allowing you to have increased fitness and mobility. It adds strength, flexibility and promotes good circulation, which helps to fight some of the effects of aging.
